Cookie Day at Wieden+Kennedy
Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 12:36PM This is an archive post, but one I wanted to share. In 2008 I was living in Amsterdam and working at Wieden+Kennedy with some wonderful people. Every Friday we had 'Cookie Day' which consisted of several uninspiring packets of biscuits from the supermarket being opened and set out on a big tray. It was a nice gesture and we all appreciated the sugar on a Friday morning, but I felt it was such a let down in terms of cookie potential that I was inspired to see if I could do a better job for my colleagues. So one Friday was Cookie Day care of me! It was so much fun to see people's faces and the hands piling cookies onto plates/cups/bowls and into mouths! Everyone was high on sugar and loving it. It was such fun to be able to give everyone a special surprise that day. Now I do it every year wherever I work, last year I asked for donations and made $300 for Pencils of Promise which felt extra special. Cookies make the world (and the work place) a better place for everyone :) In the last picture is myself and Guy Champney who very sadly died last year. He was an amazing spirit and of all the people there that day, he seemed to appreciate the cookie love more than anyone. We all miss you very much Guy. xxx
