Beautiful Boxes

If you're into putting things neatly in boxes, filing, organizing, categorizing, colour coding, alphabetizing and generally putting things straight!  - and let's face it, who doesn't love an indulgent moment of OCD - then you'll know how tricky it can be to find aesthetically pleasing storage solutions. The Container Store is organizing heaven, but it's not beautiful, just practical. I started collecting wine boxes while I was still in college and used them to build a 'wall shelving unit' which housed my CD's and DVD's (oh the 90's). I've since left the wine boxes behind (moving countries means prioritizing your make shift furniture!), but here in New York's flea markets I've started a collection of old soda boxes and other beautiful vintage finds. The soda crates make fantastic stationary organizers with pens, selotape, rulers and note pads each in their own slot. I have one on my desk at work as well - why not when it's where I spend most of my time! They stack beautifully to make their own little storage heaven. Keep your eyes open for one when you're next in a second hand market!
